Nalpamaradi Thailam for Babies

Traditionally in Kerala, Ayurvedic oils play a significant role in baby health care. The Ayurveda Acharyas has given much importance to body massage in infants and children. Oil massage in babies helps them to improve blood supply, heat loss, reduces stress, gives effective stimulation, etc. Oil massage also provides the baby with a night of better sleep. Among those of the Ayurvedic oils, selecting specific and suitable oil for the babies is a primary task for the parents. But according to Ayurveda, Nalpamaradi oil is one of the most appropriate oil used for babies, as a pre-bath massage oil. This Nalpamaradi oil contains turmeric and sandalwood, making the baby skin even softer and increases the skin’s fairness. Due to its increased usage among babies nowadays, there are many fake oils named in Nalpamaradi thailam. But our Shesha Ayurveda Nalpamaradi thailam has its name and is one of the best trusts among India’s families, especially in Kerala.

Shesha Ayurveda Nalpamaradi oil is prepared by the traditional method and is obtained at an affordable price. This oil is formulated using several natural herbs, and the main ingredient is nalpamara, the bark of four different types of trees (Athi, Ithi, Arayal, Peral). Other components include turmeric, sandalwood, Amla, Ginger, Vetiver etc., with sesame oil as the base oil, which helps absorb these ingredients to the skin. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that provide brightening properties to the oil by reducing pigmentation and heals blemishes. Amla possesses antibacterial activity and also has natural toning action that helps the oil in treating hyperpigmentation. Vetiver provides cooling property to the oil. Shesha Ayurveda Nalpamaradi Thailam is meant only for external applications. This oil is a skin tonner and also prevents dryness of the skin in babies. Nalpamaradi oil is used in treating skin diseases, Eczema, Scabies, ringworm infection, etc., in babies, both baby boy and girl.

Nalpamaradi oil can be applied throughout the body of the baby and is gently massaged. The massaging should be done in a circular and upward direction. Massaging this oil under the baby’s feet and the ear helps them increase blood circulation, improve eyesight, and get healthy brain function. After massaging, leave the baby for about 20-30 minutes, then the oil from the baby is washed using chickpea flour or green gram powder in lukewarm water. This Nalpamaradi oil is suggested to babies above three months. Also, care should be taken while putting the oil in the area near the babies’ eyes. As this oil is made from organic compounds and does not contain any harmful chemicals or parabens, it moisturizes the baby’s skin very well and does not cause any problem to the baby. The only thing we have to think of is that as it contains turmeric, it may cause a stain in the clothes and to avoid this, a separate towel is kept to wipe the babies after bathing. Till now, no side effects have been found with the external application of this oil.
